🔒 Privacy Policy

🌟 The Short Version

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Everything you enter into the Idea Validator stays on your device in your browser's local storage. We have no servers, no databases, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. Your ideas, answers, and scores are yours alone.

1. Information We Collect

We collect nothing. The Idea Validator does not require an account, email, name, or any personal information. We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.). We do not collect IP addresses or device information.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All data you enter into the App — your idea description, answers to the 6 questions, verdicts, and backup data — is stored exclusively on your device using your browser's localStorage feature. This data never leaves your device.

Specifically, the following localStorage keys are used:

• ideaValidator_lastVerdict — Saves your most recent verdict and score
• ideaValidator_ideas — Stores all your saved idea records
• ideaValidator_pinHash — SHA-256 hash of your PIN (if you set one)
• ideaValidator_pinSalt — Random salt for PIN hashing (if you set one)

Note: Clearing your browser data or localStorage will erase this information. Use the export/backup feature to save your data before clearing browser data.

3. Data Transmission

No data is ever transmitted to JRT or any third party. The App is a fully client-side application. All scoring, verdict generation, and data processing happens entirely within your browser. There are no API calls, no server-side processing, and no data uploads.

4. PIN Lock Security

If you choose to enable the optional PIN lock feature, your 4-digit PIN is stored as a SHA-256 hash combined with a random salt. The plain-text PIN is never stored — only the hash and salt are saved in localStorage. This is a convenience feature to prevent casual access to your app data on your device, and is not intended as enterprise-grade encryption.

5. Backup & Export

The export feature downloads your data as a JSON file directly to your device. This file contains your ideas, answers, and verdicts. You are responsible for keeping this file secure once it's downloaded. The import feature reads a backup file from your device to restore your data — this also happens entirely on your device.

6. Third-Party Services

The App includes a link to jaderosetech.com/contact for optional paid support consultations. Clicking this link takes you to an external website with its own privacy policy. JRT does not share any App data with this or any other external service, because we have no data to share.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect no data at all, this is inherently satisfied.

8. Your Rights

Because all data is stored on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

• View: All your data is visible within the App.
• Export: Download a complete backup at any time.
• Delete: Clear your browser's localStorage or use browser settings to remove all App data.
• Portability: Your exported JSON backup can be imported on any device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Since we collect no data, any changes would only relate to new features that might affect storage. We will update the "Last updated" date and notify users within the App if any material changes occur.
